New Year New You
Welcome to the LAST Monday Momentum of 2024 - Your weekly dose of inspiration designed to kickstart your week with energy, motivation, and focus
A Quote I Like:
“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”
For better or worse, I’ve always been the “go with the flow” type. Growing up, I didn’t have a big master plan or a step-by-step guide for what I wanted to do with my life. We live in a world that praises people for knowing exactly what they want to be when they grow up and how to get there, but a huge number of people don't quite have it all figured out. I know this because I am one of them. It’s taken time, but I’ve embraced the fact that my journey looks a little different from the norm. Sure, my road might be longer and have a few more twists and turns, but it’s leading somewhere exciting, somewhere entirely my own.
Take earlier this year, for example. I decided to learn how to write online. I’d been looking into all kinds of “high-value” skills, but I kept coming back to writing. Something about it just clicked. Plus, it’s a skill that could let me work anytime, anywhere—exactly what I’m aiming for right now.
Is that a super clear, well-defined goal? Definitely not. There's no yellow brick road that leads me exactly where I need to go. It feels more like an endless web of paths, all leading… somewhere. But I’ve made big strides toward this dream. Even if I still don’t totally know how it’s going to pan out, I trust that as I start to walk on the way, the way will appear.
One Thing to Try This Week:
Now that the year’s winding down, take some time to make a list of your goals for 2025. Focus on the ones that feel huge and kind of impossible—the ones where you have no clue how you’ll actually make them happen. Those are often the most rewarding, leading to unexpected adventures and outcomes you couldn’t predict. All you need to do is trust that the way will appear if you have the courage to walk towards them.
