Be Proud of Yourself
Welcome to Monday Momentum - Your weekly dose of inspiration designed to kickstart your week with energy, motivation, and focus
A Quote I Like:
"Do not despise the bottom rungs in the ascent to greatness."
About eight years ago, every time I went to the gym, I listened to the same Arnold Schwarzenegger speech as I was warming up on the bikes before my workout. It really got me motivated to have a good workout. He ended the speech by saying, "You can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets." To me, this means that nobody gets anywhere worthwhile in life without putting in the necessary work that greatness requires. This quote is a good reminder to trust the process, putting in work every day on your goal can only lead you closer to success. Even if you're on the bottom rung today, you're still one step further than yesterday.
One Thing to Try This Week:
Write down three personal past accomplishments that you're proud of. It might not feel like it day to day, but looking back, we've all achieved some incredible things. Both big and small. Remind yourself of all you've accomplished and know that there's more of that to come.
Here are three past accomplishments that I'm proud of:
- Moved to a new city when I was 22 with nothing but a suitcase and my guitar
- Wrote a song that has over 1,000,000 streams on Spotify (You can listen to it here if you're curious)
- Got a dog! I had wanted one for as long as I can remember. He is my best little pal, and it has been an absolute joy to watch him grow and learn over the years
Take a few minutes and think about what YOU are proud of. It's amazing to have people in your life be proud of you, but most importantly, it should come from within. You should be proud of yourself. Plus, it can be a powerful reminder of how far you've come in all aspects of your life.
Resource of the Week:
The Untethered Soul - This is a book that was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. I haven't quite finished it yet, but it's a lovely read for anyone wanting to look within themselves to discover more. It is all about you, your feelings, thoughts and consciousness. This book explains how you can navigate your own mind, get in touch with yourself and become your own master to ultimately achieve enlightenment. I think we could all use a little bit more of that.
See you next week <3
